Voting analysis
One of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's bills would impose a moratorium on artificial intelligence data centres. It is the most sweeping of five measures on this site addressing those buildings, and the five together are worth setting out because no single page shows the pattern.
A New Jersey Democrat has taken up the siting disclosure question. An Ohio Republican works the electricity side, on forecasting the demand they create. An Ohio Democrat addresses the effect on the towns that host them. A Michigan Democrat would bar them from federal land outright. This one would halt new construction while the question gets settled.
Two parties, five states, one class of building that required no legislation at all until very recently. Whatever the right answer is, the volume of independent attempts is itself the finding.

Geothermal, from the other side
Another of her filings concerns cost recovery for geothermal projects. A North Carolina Republican elsewhere on this site — whose voting record sits well to the right of his conference — filed a geothermal research and development bill. Deep heat has quietly stopped being a partisan subject while nobody was arguing about it.
Housing tops her classified subjects. The remaining bills cover steering in Medicare Advantage, wages for home care workers, and immigration protections for workers exposed at a disaster site.

Where she broke ranks
Mostly by refusing. She voted no on a daylight saving measure, a children's online safety act, a community bank deposit bill, a military construction and veterans spending act, an organised retail crime measure, a surveillance extension and an Iran resolution — all of which her caucus supported and the House passed. Her two crossings — on war powers and on fuel retailing — both went to measures that fell short.
