    Requires Iowa high school students and high school equivalency candidates to pass the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Naturalization Civics Test (or equivalent score) as a condition of graduation.
  • IA SF 418 — Removal of Gender Identity From Iowa Civil Rights Act (Signed into law, Feb 28, 2025)
    Made Iowa the first state to remove an explicitly enumerated protected class from its civil rights code — eliminating gender identity protections in employment, housing, credit, education, and public accommodations. Effective July 1, 2025.
