Appointed to the Senate on July 13, 2026 and sworn in the following day, filling the seat left vacant by the death of her brother, Lindsey Graham. Commissioner of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind since 2019 and a career vocational rehabilitation counselor. She is the first woman to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.
