About iRate

How the country
rates its leaders.

iRate turns how you feel about any U.S. politician into a single tap โ€” one of nine emojis, from ๐Ÿ˜ˆ to ๐Ÿ† โ€” and adds it to a live, nationwide verdict.

What is iRate?

iRate is a free, public scoreboard for American politics. Instead of a thumbs up or a five-star review, you give a politician one of nine emoji verdicts โ€” and the app aggregates everyone's taps into a running score called the iRating.

It covers 607 sitting leaders: the President and cabinet, all 100 U.S. senators, every House representative, and the 50 state governors. Browse them all on the Politicians page, or see who's up and down on the Leaderboard.

How it works

2

Tap your verdict

3

Watch the community iRating shift in real time as the country weighs in.

The nine-emoji scale

Every verdict maps to a point on one scale, from worst to best. The iRating is just the average of all of them.
